Paint Your Own Animals

Mexico Lindo Mercado y Galeria de Artesanias

Here are some useful things for families, artists and kids of all ages to get creative with as we all continue to do our parts in this endeavor to protect one another, love one another and nurture ourselves. Some of these items were purchased specifically to support an amazing organization here in Pittsburgh called Casa San Jose. I will share 33% of sales of these papier mache animals with them for the next two weeks, or until supplies  run out, whichever comes first. (Don't worry, there will more available if you show your love!) Please visit  their site and social media to learn about all of their worthwhile and very necessary projects and services. I'm also working on a second round of fundraising to be announced soon, and that will be intended to create an emergency fund via Friends of Oaxacan Folk Art for the artesanos of Oaxaca whose work inspired this project. This project became an ongoing workshop that I incorporated into my offerings when I brought Armando Jimenez here to Pittsburgh several years ago and we ran out of his own blank carvings to paint.  I purchased the papier mache ones. Ever since then I've had difficulties obtaining the unpainted carved ones from Armando because he has taken that idea and incorporated it into his own workshops at his taller in Arrazola with great success! And so an addition to a tradition was born. :)

I'll be adding additional items to this collection in other categories very soon. Click on the drop down dialog box to choose from this variety of animals. For now I'm offering discounted contactless delivery, included in the $8 price as shown, without shipping, for local Pittsburghers. If you are out of state and would like your order to be shipped , please contact me with your info and I can invoice you with shipping costs added. If you have any questions, feel free to text me at 412 422 9984.
